IDD Group Homes Program Manager
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position supervises Group Home Supervisors and Direct Support Professionals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
oSupervises and coordinates activities of Direct Support employees and manages operations, staffing and budget of facilities assigned.
oInterviews and hires Direct Support Professionals
oPrepares employee schedules ensuring that there is adequate staffing coverage at all times.
oPerforms all personal care duties that Direct Support perform, such as personal hygiene tasks, meal preparation and goal implementation.
oSpends adequate amounts of time in the residential facility monitoring and providing feedback to staff on all three shifts in interactions and relationships with people supported, maintaining harmony between employees clients while serving as a positive role model.
oSeeks to understand the individuals in the context of their personal history, their social and family networks, and their hopes and dreams for the future.
oResolves employee issues and conducts performance reviews
oEnsures employees meet training requirements and attend required events
oMonitors select budget items staying within guidelines
oMonitors and provides feedback to employees during all three shifts in interactions and relationships with the people supported
oProvides after-hours and on-call coverage as part of the direct care rotation
oEnsures that people supported have a clean and maintained home and yard.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
oA high school diploma or equivalent
oOne year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
oFlexible schedule and availability to provide on-call coverage as needed
oCPR, first aid, NCI and/or MedTech certification, a plus
oMust be qualified as a Habilitation Technician II (med certified) or eligible to be so designated at the first available training after accepting the position.
oMust be at least 18 years of age
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
oMust be able to regularly lift and carry up to 20 lbs. and occasionally pull at least 40 lbs.
oMust be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop as part of regular job duties.
oMust be able to use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls.
o Required to stand and walk for extended periods.
oMust be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from floor level, which requires working on hands and knees, bending, standing, and lifting.
oVision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision.
oMust be able to talk and hear.
Exception – Deaf and Hard of Hearing Programs: For these programs only, employees must be fluent in American Sign Language (ASL). The requirement to talk and hear does not apply.
