Group Home Manager: This position will be responsible for the overall management of group home operations. The position supervises and coordinates activities of the Supervisors/Team Leads and the Direct Care Workers engaged in direct patient care and home operations. The position must ensure that 100% adherence to all policies and procedures including all state and county requirements. Along with the technical skills, this position calls for significant organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills, and good communication capabilities, both written and verbal.

Dimensions (Including Physical Demands): Requires walking, sitting or standing, bending, stooping and moderate physical effort; Continuous mental and visual attention required; Eyesight correctable to 20/20 required; The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move residents of any weight, with assistance of a Hoyer lift of other protective equipment, and use all equipment effectively. Requires use of office equipment such as, computer, copy machine, fax, projector, telephone; Must have keen sense to detail; Strong interpersonal skills; Strong oral and written communication skills; Ability to problem solve; Requires flexible working hours necessary (evenings & week-ends); Regular, predictable attendance required.

Essential functions and Responsibilities (not an exhaustive list):

  1. Manage all Supervisor/Team Lead Staff/Direct Care Worker Staff assigned to the home including, Individual Plan of Service (IPOS), dispensing medications, dietary needs, documenting incidents, consumer progress notes, and all health and safety standards to safeguard quality and compliance;
  2. Monitor and understand all conditions of the persons served for a safe and functioning home;
  3. Conduct weekly home questionnaire/checklist to maintain cleanliness and compliance in the home;
  4. Conduct monthly medication audits;
  5. Maintain schedules and weekly appointments for the persons served; Transport persons served as required including shopping, outings, activities, etc.;
  6. Act as liaison to all agencies involved in services for persons served;
  7. Set and manage staff schedules for proper coverage & minimize overtime; Maintain time sheets;
  8. Manage administrative functions relating to employee relations matters (employee coaching/counseling, attendance, safety, scheduling, performance evaluations, training, etc.)
  9. Conduct all in-service training and ensure staff is trained as needed;
  10. Maintain positive contact with public guardians of person served;
  11. Conduct staff meetings;
  12. Maintain all required documents and adhere to compliance;
  13. Maintain clear and open communication upward, downward and laterally;
  14. Adhere to all agency rules, regulations and standards;
  15. Maintain availability for on-call duties (24 hours/7 days per week);
  16. Follow all policies and procedures including all health and safety regulations; and
  17. Other duties as required.

Work Environment: The work is done primarily in a home setting however, frequently the Manager will travel to various locations. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions including poor driving/road conditions when traveling. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work is done during extended business hours but also includes early mornings/evenings and weekends (On-call).

Education and Experience: High School Diploma/GED--Associate's degree preferred; Minimum Ten (10) years of experience in direct care work/Residential Care experience; Minimum Five (5) years Supervisory experience; May consider equivalent combination of Education/Experience.

Other Requirements: Valid Driver's License; Good stand driving record
