JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The Groundskeeper position maintains the luxurious gardens, trees, lawns, flowers and plants keeping all horticulture attractive and pleasant to view. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Installs, plants, maintains and fertilizes all the gardens and areas on the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa facility areas.
- Installs and maintains water fountains, fences, gates, retaining walls, rock gardeens, outdoor lighting and other design features.
- Digs trenches and levels grounds.
- Keeps outdoor furniture clean and in good repair.
- Applies mulch, fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides.
- Maintains green spaces by weeding, trimming and pruning.
- Removes unwanted or unhealthy plants, shrubs, and trees, as well as downed limbs.
- Operates hand tools and power equipment, including mowers, leaf blowers, tillers, backhoes and tractors.
- Waters lawns and gardens, keeping automated irrigation operational.
- Rakes leaves and other vegetation from lawns and flower beds.
- Removes trash and debris from outdoor areas.
- Works with mainteneance crews as necessary.
- Prepares grounds for any hurricane issues as necessary.
- Responsible for maintaining all equipment and fixtures. Responsible for keeping equipment clean and maintained as needed. Chemical treatment may be required to maintain these systems.
- Responsible for maintaining of all life safety equipment, sprinkler systems and fire extinguishers throughout the resort and spa to ensure proper working condition and fire protection is in compliance with OSHA and local codes.
- Responsible for maintaining the mechanical rooms in a safe environment and be sure everything is in safe working order.Responsible for reporting any safety needs to appropriate managers.
