Job Duties

• Maintain grounds neatly and attractively (vehicles, grounds, buildings, and equipment)
• Ensure all facilities equipment is properly maintained and ready for use
• Keep supervisor advised of any material or equipment needs requiring replacement or maintenance
• Perform all non-routine tasks as assigned by the Facilities Manager
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous landscaping, grounds maintenance, horticulture, or related training is beneficial.

Experience Requirements

• Ability to safely operate landscaping tools and outdoor maintenance equipment.
• Knowledge of basic lawn care, landscape maintenance, planting, trimming, and property upkeep.
• Ability to follow work schedules, safety procedures, and landscape maintenance plans.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining attractive outdoor environments.
• Dependable attendance and the ability to work effectively outdoors in changing weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous groundskeeping, landscaping, lawn maintenance, property maintenance, or horticulture experience is preferred.
• Experience operating commercial mowers, string trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, or irrigation equipment is beneficial.
• Knowledge of plant care, irrigation systems, fertilization, seasonal maintenance, or landscape installation is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate reliability, initiative, teamwork, and pride in quality workmanship are well positioned for success as a Groundskeeper.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physically demanding outdoor work throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull landscaping materials, tools, or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely operate outdoor power equipment while maintaining awareness of surroundings.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while following established safety procedures.

What You Will Do

As a Groundskeeper you will mow lawns, trim shrubs and trees, edge sidewalks, plant flowers and landscaping materials, remove weeds, collect debris, maintain irrigation systems as needed, operate landscaping equipment, and help keep outdoor areas clean, attractive, and safe while following established maintenance schedules and safety procedures.
