Grounds & Maintenance Student Worker

If you enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and learning practical skills, the Grounds & Maintenance Department is a great place to work. You will work alongside the Grounds & Maintenance crew while gaining hands-on experience in landscaping, maintenance, equipment operation, and other campus projects.

Hours:

Students typically work 10-12 hours per week between 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The department offers flexible scheduling within these hours, allowing students to arrange their work schedule around their classes and other commitments. Students may also split their hours into multiple work periods throughout the day when needed.

Type of Work:

• Weed trimming and general landscaping.
• Trimming shrubs and trees.
• Repairing and maintaining irrigation systems.
• Installing landscape edging and ground cover.
• Assisting with sports field repair and maintenance.
• Operating and performing basic maintenance on small engines and equipment.
• Performing minor building maintenance.
• Assisting with office and equipment relocations.
• Helping with other grounds, maintenance, and campus projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• Dependable and willing to work as part of a team.
• Able to work outdoors and perform physical tasks.
• Willing to learn and follow instructions.
• No prior grounds or maintenance experience required.
