Description
Ground Up Superintendent
Our client is a well-established general contractor specializing in both residential and commercial construction projects throughout New Jersey. Their portfolio includes ground-up developments, interior fit-outs, renovations, and remodeling projects, with a reputation for delivering high-quality work and maintaining strong client relationships.
Job Description
- Manage all day-to-day construction activities on site.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure adherence to project schedules.
- Oversee the construction of a 20-unit, 55,000-square-foot ground-up condominium development.
- Conduct daily site inspections and maintain quality control standards.
- Enforce OSHA and company safety regulations, ensuring a safe work environment.
- Monitor project progress and proactively resolve construction issues.
- Lead subcontractor meetings and coordinate work sequencing among trades.
- Review construction drawings and specifications to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with project managers, owners, architects, and consultants.
- Maintain project documentation including daily reports, schedules, and site logs.
- Assist with inspections, punch lists, closeout activities, and project turnover.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Ground Up Superintendent should have:
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent with a general contractor.
- Proven experience managing ground-up construction projects from start to finish.
- Experience in residential, multifamily, commercial, or mixed-use construction preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and quality control practices.
- Ability to lead teams, manage subcontractors, and maintain project momentum.
- Knowledge of local building codes, permitting processes, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency with construction management software and technology platforms.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project schedules.
