Most importantly, you should have hands-on experience grooming or bathing all breeds of dogs and cats and be committed to delivering professional, safe, and compassionate grooming services.
You’ll play a key role in keeping pets healthy, clean, and looking their best. Your day may include:
Grooming scheduled appointments, walk-ins, and boarding pets
Performing full grooms, baths, and touch-ups
Communicating with pet parents about needs and results
Documenting observations and recommending additional services
You’re not just grooming—you’re building relationships with both pets and their people.
Deliver high-quality grooms that meet client expectations
Ensure a safe, gentle, and positive experience for every pet
Collaborate with medical and boarding teams
Consult with clients before and after services
Monitor pet health and report concerns
Maintain grooming tools and ensure equipment safety
Keep grooming and bathing areas clean and sanitized
Schedule appointments and assist with client onboarding
Resolve client concerns professionally and promptly
Passion for animal care (dogs + cats)
Commitment to safe, low-stress handling (no forceful or aversive techniques)
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy environment
Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude
Detail-oriented with basic computer skills
Physically able to handle dogs of all sizes (up to 60 lbs)
Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling
2–4 years of professional grooming experience preferred
Grooming certification preferred (not required)
Knowledge of breed standards and cuts
Skilled in proper scissoring techniques
Commission-based pay
