About the Role

We’re seeking a full-time Pet Groomer to join our team. This is a commission-based position reporting to the Practice Manager and Medical Director.

The ideal candidate is:

  • A team player who’s also self-motivated

  • Detail-oriented and reliable

  • A strong communicator with a passion for animals and client care

Most importantly, you should have hands-on experience grooming or bathing all breeds of dogs and cats and be committed to delivering professional, safe, and compassionate grooming services.

A Day in the Life

You’ll play a key role in keeping pets healthy, clean, and looking their best. Your day may include:

  • Grooming scheduled appointments, walk-ins, and boarding pets

  • Performing full grooms, baths, and touch-ups

  • Communicating with pet parents about needs and results

  • Documenting observations and recommending additional services

You’re not just grooming—you’re building relationships with both pets and their people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality grooms that meet client expectations

  • Ensure a safe, gentle, and positive experience for every pet

  • Collaborate with medical and boarding teams

  • Consult with clients before and after services

  • Monitor pet health and report concerns

  • Maintain grooming tools and ensure equipment safety

  • Keep grooming and bathing areas clean and sanitized

  • Schedule appointments and assist with client onboarding

  • Resolve client concerns professionally and promptly

What We’re Looking For

  • Passion for animal care (dogs + cats)

  • Commitment to safe, low-stress handling (no forceful or aversive techniques)

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy environment

  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude

  • Detail-oriented with basic computer skills

  • Physically able to handle dogs of all sizes (up to 60 lbs)

  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of professional grooming experience preferred

  • Grooming certification preferred (not required)

  • Knowledge of breed standards and cuts

  • Skilled in proper scissoring techniques
