    Position Overview

    The Grants Development Manager supports the development and administration of philanthropic grant and donor proposals by identifying funding opportunities, coordinating proposal development activities, providing technical guidance, assisting with budget development and maintaining grant records. This position ensures compliance with grant requirements, supports grant development efforts, proposal submission, reporting requirements and related documentation throughout the lifecycle of awarded grants.

    This is a Professional Exempt Contractual (PEC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College's District Board of Trustees.

    What you will be doing

    • Coordinates the development and submission of grant and donor proposals, ensuring timely completion and adherence to sponsor requirements
    • Develops grant outlines, narratives, compliance matrix, proposal schedules, and supporting proposal documentation.
    • Researches and identifies potential funding opportunities that align with College programs, initiatives and strategic priorities
    • Researches, gathers and compiles relevant information to support grant and donor proposal development
    • Collaborates with College personnel to identify funding needs, objectives, and potential funding strategies
    • Provides technical assistance and guidance to project personnel regarding grant proposal development and submission requirements
    • Reviews, edits and formats grant applications and documentation by applying established templates, guidelines, and standards for content, readability, and presentation
    • Conducts grant regular monitoring meetings to review fiscal and performance activities, analyzes project spending and progress and provides information to project managers to adjust spending
    • Coordinates grant reporting, audit responses, and other grant‐related activities and provides support during applicable budget planning and review processes
    • Assists with the collection and organization of information required for grant reports, audits, award documentation, modifications, extensions and other sponsor-related records
    • Coordinates grant award modifications, including no-cost extensions, budget revisions, carryover requests, personnel changes, and other project amendments, as applicable
    • Processes grant award documents, and coordinates the preparation of sub‐agreements, memoranda of understanding (MOUs), and other related grant documents
    • Develops resources and provides training and oversight to facilitate the preparation of reports and documentation required by grantors
    • Assists in the development and implementation of College policies, procedures, and processes related to the administration and management of grant projects
    • Maintains proposal matrix, past performance information, and proposal support databases
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    What you need to succeed

    • Masters degree from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of related experience or; Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution and six (6) years of experience
    • Experience must include verifiable successful experience in technical writing, proof-reading, editing, copy writing, grant writing or equivalent written communication format
    • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
    • Experience in grant management, including budget personnel management and reporting
    • Strong interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) and organizational skills
    • Excellent writing skills with strong ability to summarize data concisely
    • Ability to work well under pressure and effectively manage multiple priorities
    • Knowledge of current developments/trends in area of expertise
    • Possess strong analytical and organizational skills and extreme attention to detail
    • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and/or projections
    • Ability to provide technical advice and information to faculty and staff in area of expertise
    • Ability to provide database management skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database applications
    • Working knowledge of grants monitoring, compliance or internal auditing
    • Expert knowledge of grant writing development
    • Ability to demonstrate effective time-management and organizational skills
    • Ability to provide database management skills
    • Ability to work well with students, faculty and staff

    Additional Requirements

    The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
