Position Title: Grants & Compliance Manager

Reports To: Senior Director of Special Projects

Location: San Antonio, TX (with periodic travel to North Texas campuses)

Position Summary The Grants & Compliance Manager is responsible for coordinating the development, administration, monitoring, and compliance of federal, state, local, and private grant programs that support the mission and strategic priorities of the organization. This role ensures grant funds are maximized, properly managed, and aligned with instructional, operational, and student support needs across schools and departments. This position will work in close collaboration with the Director of Federal Programs to support the planning, coordination, compliance, and execution of federal grant initiatives and other strategic funding priorities across the organization. The role will also research new grant opportunities, evaluates applicability to school needs, and assists with grant proposal development.

Key Responsibilities Identify, research, and monitor grant opportunities from federal, state, local, private, and philanthropic funding sources.

Evaluate grant opportunities to determine alignment with school priorities, campus needs, and program goals.

Meet with departments and campuses to understand needs and connect projects with potential funding sources.

Assist in drafting and coordinating grant applications, narratives, budgets, timelines, and required attachments.

Maintain calendars for grant submissions, renewals, reporting deadlines, and compliance requirements.

Support administration of textbook allotments, instructional materials funds, and other designated education funding sources.

Help departments identify the most appropriate funding source for requests and initiatives.

Oversee awarded grants from start-up through closeout, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.

Monitor grant spending and partner with Finance on coding, reimbursements, and amendments.

Maintain organized grant files and prepare required reports.

Provide training and guidance to school leaders and staff regarding grants and compliance.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in grant management, compliance, finance, education administration.

Experience working in K-12 public education, charter schools, or nonprofit organizations preferred.

Knowledge of federal and state grant programs, school finance, allotments, and compliance practices preferred.

Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency with spreadsheets, data systems, and standard office software.

Additional Requirements Must pass a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) fingerprint background check.

Ability to perform physical functions including sitting, standing, and light lifting (up to ~15 pounds).

Travel to campuses across Texas as needed; occasional out-of-state travel may be required.
