Job Description

 

Our client in Fort Pierce is seeking an experienced Grant Writer for a temporary assignment within its Grants Administration operation. This position will work with multiple departments to identify funding opportunities and assist with the research, preparation, submission, administration, and monitoring of federal and state grant programs.

 

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with grant writing and administration, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision.

 

Responsibilities

 

Research and identify federal, state, and other grant funding opportunities

Prepare, organize, and submit grant applications

Track submitted applications, grant awards, deadlines, and reporting requirements

Create and maintain a grant reporting calendar

Review grant agreements and assist with ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulations

Monitor grant-funded budgets and expenditures

Prepare grant monitoring, financial, and compliance reports

Maintain accurate grant documentation, files, and records

Communicate with grantors, community partners, department staff, and other agencies regarding grant requirements

Conduct monitoring activities to ensure grant-funded projects remain compliant with state and federal requirements

Track project-related costs and assist with financial reporting

Qualifications

 

Previous experience researching, writing, submitting, tracking, and reporting on grants

Working knowledge of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) programs

Minimum of 3 years of experience administering programs or projects

Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; substantial related grant writing, project management, CDBG, or SHIP experience may be considered in place of a four-year degree

Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong attention to detail and ability to work with financial and numerical information

Ability to work independently, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines

Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills
