Job Store Staffing is seeking a Part-Time Grant Specialist II for a hybrid opportunity in Denver, CO.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Schedule: Part-Time, 20 hours per week (flexible schedule)
Duration: Up to 9 months, with potential for future full-time opportunities based on program needs and performance
Location: Hybrid – Denver, CO (primarily remote with occasional in-office meetings)
Position Overview
The Grant Specialist II provides professional grant administration and program support for a state agency focused on advancing positive outcomes for Colorado children and families. This role supports the full grant lifecycle, including funding research, grant writing, compliance monitoring, reporting, and technical assistance. The ideal candidate will have strong grant management experience, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Grant Writing & Funding Development
- Research, identify, and track federal, state, local, and private funding opportunities.
- Assist with developing, writing, and submitting competitive grant applications and funding proposals.
- Collaborate with program, finance, and leadership teams to gather data, budgets, and supporting documentation.
- Draft grant narratives, work plans, goals, objectives, and performance measures.
- Support preparation of grant budgets and budget justifications.
- Review funding announcements and grant guidance to ensure compliance with submission requirements.
- Maintain grant opportunity calendars and monitor proposal deadlines.
Grant Administration & Compliance
- Assist in developing and implementing a department-wide grant strategy.
- Support administration of state and federally funded grant programs.
- Review grant applications, budgets, and supporting documentation for compliance.
- Track grant agreements, amendments, reporting requirements, and deadlines.
- Conduct desk reviews and support grant monitoring activities.
- Ensure compliance with grant regulations and funding requirements.
- Provide support and technical assistance to program staff and community partners as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous grant administration, grant writing, or grant management experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of state, federal, or nonprofit grant processes preferred.
- Experience working with grant management systems or similar tracking software.
- Strong narrative, technical, and proposal writing skills.
- Ability to interpret funding opportunities, compliance requirements, and grant guidance.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including finance and program staff.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of early childhood programs or education-related funding is a plus.
