About the Position

This position will learn all areas of the Office of Grant Management including, but not limited to, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Programs, Governors Discretionary Grants (GDG), Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP), National Dislocated Worker Grants (NDWG), Department of Defense MS SHIPS Grant, the Partners for Reentry Opportunities in Workforce Development (PROWD) initiative, and Rapid Response/Layoff Aversion activities. Attend local, regional, and statewide meetings with subgrantees, including some out of state. Manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Act as liaison to local workforce development areas. Provide technical assistance to subgrantees regarding fiscal and programmatic operations. Work with appropriate accounting/fiscal staff to ensure allocation, reallocation, and expenditure of funds. Interpret complex laws/regulations. Prepare and submit quarterly and yearly reports to the US Department of Labor, local workforce development areas, and other partnership entities. Research and draft correspondence, communications, policies, and other relevant official documentation.

Excellent communication, computer, and organizational skills, ability to interpret law, and work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience. Hiring agency prefers: Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year college or university and three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a directly related field. Paid Personal Leave and Sick Leave

Full-time employees receive paid time off for personal needs and for sick leave. Leave begins accruing after one month of employment and may be used as it is accrued. Employees earn approximately 18 days of personal leave annually and 12 days of sick leave annually.

In accordance with federal law, all employees serving in the armed forces or the military reserves are entitled to 15 days per year for military training.
