    This is a grant funded position. Continuation of this grant-funded position is contingent upon the continued availability of grant funds. There is no right or expectancy of continued employment beyond the terms of the employment agreement.

    This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill Part-Time Grant-Funded assignments on an as-needed basis. Departments or divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill temporary assignments as the need arises. You will be contacted by the Hiring Manager should the department/division be interested in scheduling an interview.     Position Summary Information

    Job Description Summary

    The Math Department is seeking a motivated and successful student to serve as an Instructional Assistant for Developmental and possibly Co-Req classes. The purpose of the position is to assist the Instructor of Record in classroom activities. These activities will vary, depending on the needs of the instructor and students. This person will help the students enhance their mathematical knowledge to succeed in their course.

    Minimum Qualifications

    INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT - MATHEMATICS (Level I) -

    • 12 college credit hours, "B" average for Math Classes

    INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT - MATHEMATICS (Level II) -

    • 60 college credit hours, "B" average for Math Classes

    INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT - MATHEMATICS (Level III) -

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics or a Math-related field OR Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 21 college credit hours in Mathematics

    Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong mathematical skills and logical reasoning
    • Ability to effectively articulate mathematical concepts
    • Capable of working with students with different backgrounds as well as various academic levels and needs

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Prior tutoring experience
    • Completion of Trigonometry or Calculus I
    • Knowledge of Canvas
    • Proficient with MyMathLab (Pearson) and a variety of calculators
    • Ability to work independently and to take initiative in fulfilling responsibilities
