Grant Fiscal Analyst

Overview:

StaffBuffalo is working with a mission-driven public-sector organization in Buffalo, NY to hire a Grant Fiscal Analyst, paying $60,533 annually. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity for someone who enjoys detailed financial work, grant compliance, contract tracking, and supporting funding activity that directly impacts community-focused programs.

In this role, the Grant Fiscal Analyst will report to finance leadership and help ensure accurate, timely processing of grant-related encumbrances, change orders, draw requests, contract activity, and budget balances. This position uses multiple systems and applications, so the ideal candidate is organized, careful with details, comfortable working independently, and able to communicate clearly with both internal departments and external partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Review, process, and track internal and external encumbrances, change orders, and draw requests related to assigned grant funds.
  • Monitor contracts, funding activity, and budget balances to support accurate grant administration and fiscal oversight.
  • Use multiple systems and applications to maintain accurate records, verify information, and support compliance requirements.
  • Communicate professionally with internal departments, finance leadership, vendors, and external partners regarding grant-related activity.
  • Exercise sound judgment while working independently on day-to-day fiscal tasks, follow-up items, and documentation needs.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail when reviewing financial information, processing requests, and organizing supporting documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field with two years of grant management experience preferred.
  • Associate's degree in Business Administration or a related field with four years of grant management experience preferred.
  • Experience with grant administration, fiscal tracking, contract monitoring, public-sector finance, or related financial operations strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel strongly preferred, including comfort working with spreadsheets, balances, and detailed financial data.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through when managing documentation, requests, and deadlines.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Must establish and maintain residency within the City of Buffalo within 90 days of employment.
