The Finance Department is actively seeking a Grant and Contract Specialist Senior/SPE.

This is advanced professional planning work at the lead level responsible for overseeing contract administration and program monitoring, providing staff direction, and leading pre- and post-award grant activities, compliance functions, data collection, and evaluation of program deliverables. Work requires considerable knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of program planning, evaluation, and statistical analysis, which is usually gained through degree granting schools, or equivalent experience, supplemented by substantial work experience. Schedules, assigns, monitors, directs, reviews, and evaluates the work of assigned subordinates. Contacts with others require skills in understanding human behavior and those factors which influence or cause behavioral changes, are critical to job success and involves significant interaction with people at all levels within or outside the department. Work is subject to clearly defined policies and principles; however, requires the exercise of independent judgment in formulating, analyzing, and recommending changes in policies, rules and regulations and in providing direction to staff. When situations arise that have not previously been encountered, formulates solutions based on experience and judgment. Work is performed mainly in an office environment, but fieldwork may be required in areas where there are some risks and hazards which are known, predictable and controllable. Operates a motor vehicle and personal computers, calculators, scanners, video equipment, overhead or slide projectors, 10-key device, and other standard office equipment. Physical demands are minimal but may occasionally require lifting and moving objects of up to 20 pounds. The work is performed under limited supervision where the work assignments are subject to established procedures, practices, precedents, methods, techniques, standards and/or well-defined policies and the employee plans and organizes the work, determines their own priorities and work is usually reviewed after the fact in terms of quality, volume, timeliness and for adherence to established methods, standards and policies.

Eight (8) years of education and/or experience in contract administration, grant monitoring, or a closely related field.
With at least three (3) years of responsible administrative, professional, or technical experience in social services planning, statistical research, project management, contract management, grant procurement, or a closely related field.
Within the above combination, possession of a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited institution with a major which directly relates is preferred.

The positions that are being filled are grant funded Special Purpose positions. These positions are funded for one year at a time. If the grant is not renewed at the end of that year or any corresponding year, the employees in these SPE positions will NOT BE RETAINED when the grant expires.
