Our growing nonprofit organization in Winston-Salem is seeking an experienced Grant Accountant to join our finance team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of grant funded programs that directly support our mission and community impact.

Key Responsibilities
Monitor and manage grant budgets, expenditures, and funding allocations
Prepare grant-related financial reports for federal, state, local, and private funding sources
Ensure compliance with grant agreements, donor restrictions, and regulatory requirements
Reconcile grant activity and maintain accurate supporting documentation
Partner with program managers to review budgets, spending trends, and funding utilization
Track restricted and unrestricted funding in accordance with nonprofit accounting standards
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for grant-funded programs
Support annual audits and provide required documentation related to grants and funding sources
Review reimbursement requests and prepare drawdowns as needed
Maintain compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting best practices
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit organization
Experience managing grants, fund accounting, or government-funded programs
Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Experience with accounting software and nonprofit financial systems preferred
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Pay Details: $24.00 to $27.00 per hour
