Job Summary: The Graduate Student Assistant for Student Account Services (SAS) provides administrative, operational, and customer service support to students, parents, and campus partners regarding student account matters. This position assists with responding to inquiries related to tuition, fees, billing, payments, refunds, payment plans, and account balances while ensuring accurate recordkeeping and compliance with university policies. The Graduate Student Assistant supports daily office operations, assists with outreach and communication initiatives, and contributes to projects that enhance the student experience and office efficiency. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Current University of Alabama graduate student enrolled in at least 4.5 credit hours during Fall/Spring semesters.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have a current Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application on file with our institution. U.S. citizens or eligible noncitizens may complete a FAFSA at studentaid.gov.
Skills and Knowledge: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Effective listening skills. Ability to effectively handle stressful situations. Ability to provide professional support in a call center and front desk setting. Strong team-player.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a call center or customer service setting.
Enrollment Requirements: Applicants must meet enrollment requirements to be eligible for on-campus student employment. Applicants must be enrolled in a UA degree program and meet minimum credit hour requirements during the academic year: Undergraduate Students must be registered for at least 6 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; Graduate Students must be registered for at least 4.5 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; International Students must be registered full-time (Undergraduate = 12 credit hours, Graduate = 9 credit hours) during fall/spring semesters. Enrollment requirements must be maintained for the duration of on-campus employment. Individual hiring departments and programs may also have additional eligibility requirements for employment.
