Delta Air Lines connects the world by flying 180 million customers to 300+ destinations every year. The Ops Digital Decision Science (ODDS) team at Delta provides decision support across all major operational divisions using advanced analytics including AI/ML. ODDS is currently seeking a graduate-level intern Data Scientist to develop machine learning models, deliver insight and produce solutions aimed at continually improving airline performance and decision-making. Join our team to make a real-world impact by developing AI/ML solutions to deliver the best air travel experience.

An ideal candidate will have educational experience in machine learning, statistical analysis, and data storytelling. The candidate should have good organizational and communication skills and feel comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Functions:

  • Work within a team of data scientists to develop advanced analytics solutions for complex business problems
  • Collect data via SQL queries and perform exploratory data analysis
  • Present analysis to business owners using concise but compelling narrative and visuals
  • Learn new techniques within cloud-based platforms

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Pursuing a Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or Computer Science
  • Experience working with relational databases (SQL)
  • Understanding of machine learning techniques (Python, SciKit Learn, or other machine learning platforms)
  • Good written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to commit to the duration of the internship timeline: Aug 17, 2026 - Dec 11, 2026
  • Working as an intern does not guarantee a full-time opportunity upon graduation. This position is intended to provide you with educational, and professional work experience to prepare you for the workforce
  • Must be able to work onsite in the Atlanta, GA office
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking and styles
  • Consistently makes safety and security, of self and others, the priority
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States
