    This position offers opportunities to support programming, activities, and research initiatives while gaining mentorship and professional development.

    Under the supervision of the Program Manager, duties will vary depending on the project

    and assigned research/scholarly functions or other creative projects not limited to:

    • Coordinates communications for projects and activities that support the mission and vision of the Office of Bilingual Integration (OBI).
    • Develops and implements strategic marketing and communications plans in line with the overall university goals and strategies.
    • Design publications and other informational materials for various activities.
    • Coordinates communications via various media resources.
    • Write relevant content to communicate information to students, staff, and faculty.
    • Conduct research to support initiatives, programs, and ongoing projects.
    • Review and synthesize post-event surveys and feedback to inform future

    programming and strengthen event outcomes.

    • Work on other projects as needed

    Important: This position requires in-person work at the Center of the Borderlands office

    located on the Edinburg campus (EEDUC 2.216B, soon moving to the Shary Room, 1st floor

    Edinburg Library) during regular office hours.

    Discipline Specific Required Qualifications

    • • Must be admitted to a graduate degree program in good academic standing.
    • Registered full-time for the respective semester - nine (9) semester credit hours

    during the fall semester, nine (9) semester credit hours during the spring semester,or three (3) semester credit hours during the summer session or be registered in the

    required number of semester credit hours to fulfill the only remaining requirements

    of the degree plan.

    • Responsible, enthusiastic, independent, adheres to deadlines, and takes initiative.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work well with different groups and independently with minimal

    supervision

    Preferred Qualifications

    • • Bilingual (English and Spanish preferred).
    • Experience developing content and engagement with social media platforms and

    programming activities.

    • Background in writing, marketing, and/or research related activities
    • Knowledge of HTML, Canvas, CSS, Adobe Photoshop or other graphic design tools a plus.
