    Job Summary

    The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant (GA) at the University of North Georgias Food Pantry on the Cumming Campus. The Graduate Assistant (GA) at the University of North Georgia¿s Food Pantry will play a key role in supporting the operations and initiatives of the UNG Food Pantries and the Cumming Campus. The GA will assist in supporting, managing day-to-day Food Pantry operations, enhancing the Pantrys capacity to serve the university community, as well as work with the Campus Support Specialist to design campus-wide communications. This position will also assist in collecting and preparing data for presentation to both internal and external partners.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist with daily operations of the Food Pantry by taking inventory, stocking shelves, monitoring supplies, and tracking usage
    • Ensure inventory is maintained, monitored, and replenished as needed.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the Food Pantry space.
    • Provide support to students, staff and faculty members utilizing the Food Pantry.
    • Work closely with volunteers and donors to ensure efficient and respectful distribution of food items
    • Maintain records of pantry usage and compile reports with usage data.
    • Create flyers and other communications about campus activities and events
    • Other duties as assigned

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    • Experience with MS Office

    • Outgoing and comfortable around people

    • Strong commitment to helping others

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills

    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and administration

    • Ability to multitask and work with interruptions

    Required Qualifications

    • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
    • Must be a graduate student
