Advertised Job Summary

The Mary Black College of Nursing seeks a Graduate Assistant to support undergraduate student learning in NURS U325: Service Learning: Evidence-Based Practice. The Graduate Assistant will assist students with literature searching, evidence appraisal, scholarly writing, evidence synthesis, and evidence-based practice project development. Responsibilities include supporting in-class learning activities, mentoring undergraduate students during project development, assisting with poster preparation and dissemination activities, and collaborating with faculty to promote student success. This position provides valuable experience in higher education, mentorship, scholarly engagement, and academic support.

Qualifications

  • Must be a currently enrolled graduate student with six graduate credit hours per semester
  • Current graduate students are required to have a 3.0 GPA
  • Newly admitted graduate students must have an undergraduate 2.75 GPA
  • To maintain the position, graduate students must maintain a 3.0 GPA
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with undergraduate students in a professional, supportive, and collaborative manner.
  • Experience with academic research, literature searching, or scholarly project development preferred.
  • Familiarity with academic databases and scholarly resources preferred.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time-management skills.
  • Previous experience in mentoring, tutoring, teaching, leadership, research, scholarly writing, or project development preferred.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and accountability.
