Job Description Summary

The Graduate Assistant (GA) for the Office of the Dean serves as a strategic and operational partner in advancing the College of Business's mission, with direct contributions to AACSB accreditation, data-informed decision-making, student engagement, and college-wide initiatives.

This role provides hands-on experience in higher education administration, business school operations, and strategic project execution within a Catholic and Lasallian educational environment. The role is intentionally structured to balance strategic, engagement, and operational responsibilities. Approximately 60% of the GA's time is dedicated to strategic initiatives (including data analytics, accreditation support, and special projects), 25% to events and engagement activities, and 15% to administrative and front office operations. This allocation ensures meaningful professional development while supporting the College's highest-impact priorities.

Responsibilities

Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University's Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education.

  1. Accreditation, Assessment & Data Analytic
  • Support AACSB accreditation efforts, including:

  • Assurance of Learning (AoL) data collection and reporting

  • Faculty qualification tracking (Scholarly Academic, Practice Academic, etc.) via various software tools

  • Assist in data analysis and dashboard development related to:

  • Enrollment trend

  • Retention and student success metrics

  • Program performance

  • Conduct benchmarking against peer and aspirant institutions

  • Ranking data collection (U.S. News, Princeton Review, etc.)

  • Employer/placement data tracking

  • Student engagement analytics

  1. Strategic Projects & Dean's Initiatives
  • Lead or support special projects identified by the Dean's Office, such as:

  • New program feasibility research

  • Innovation Hub initiatives

  • Business Plan Competition execution and analytics

  • Assist in preparing briefing materials, reports, and presentations for leadership

  • Support process improvement initiatives across College operations

  1. Marketing, Communications & Storytelling
  • Develop and manage content for College of Business communications, including:

  • Social media strategy and analytics

  • Video production and editing

  • Student/faculty spotlight stories tied to outcomes and impact

  • Support program marketing campaigns using data-driven insights

  • Collaborate with University Marketing on brand alignment

  • Dean's Report support

  1. External Engagement & Recruitment Support
  • Assist with international and domestic recruitment initiatives

  • Support events and outreach efforts, including:

  • Campus visit days

  • CoB Student Club competitions and special events

  • Alumni or employer engagement events

  • Track engagement metrics and provide post-event analysis

  1. Event Planning & Execution
  • Assist in coordination of the logistics for College-level events:

  • Registration management

  • Guest tracking and communications

  • Post-event reporting and assessment

  • Ensure events align with College branding and strategic goals

  1. Office Operations & Service Excellence
  • Provide professional front-facing support for Dean's Office guests
  • Maintain organized and functional office environment
  • Cross-department coordination projects

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required and must be enrolled full-time and maintain academic excellence in one of Lewis University's graduate programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in higher education administration, business analytics, or marketing

  • Experience with:

  • AI Tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, etc.)

  • Data tools (Excel, Tableau, Power BI preferred)

  • Social media analytics platforms

  • Video editing software

  • Strong project management and organizational skills

Essential Duties Work hours

The Graduate Assistant will be required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week on a year round basis.
