Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Responsible for processing requests for grade forgiveness in accordance with University policy. Assists with processing of final grades. Processes grade forms, including grade changes, makeup forms, hardship withdrawals, registration exception forms, exam/exempt credit, grades communications, and grades reporting. Interprets and articulates academic, institutional, campus, and departmental policies and procedures to current and former students, staff, faculty, and other constituents.

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and no prior work experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a registrar's office or student services as well as working knowledge of USC academic policies and procedures.
  • Experience with grading systems and student records, and Banner Student is highly desirable.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of client/customer service principles preferred.
  • Excellent keyboarding, data entry, and word processing skills.

Job Duties

Job Duty

Assists with processing of final grades. Also, process grade forms, including grade changes, makeup forms, hardship withdrawals, registration exception forms, and exam/exempt credit. Identifies and resolves issues with forms received.

Assists with monitoring and responding to the Grades resource account, responds to inquiries received via Teams chat.

Assists with other duties as directed by Senior Associate/University Registrar, which may include commencement activities.

Provides assistance with campus registrars/records staff and dean's offices with grading procedures, including online submission of final grades using Banner. Assists students with resolving grading and registration issues. Interprets and articulates academic, institutional, campus, and departmental policies and procedures to current and former students, staff, faculty, and other constituents.
