    Description

    The Uxbridge Public Schools is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2026-27 school year. The successful candidate will foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic, social, and emotional growth in accordance with students'' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Essential responsibilities for this position include: Develop, implement, and assess Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavior plans, including writing and reporting on student goals and progress. Actively participate in Team meetings for eligibility, annual reviews, and re-evaluations. Provide specialized instruction in primary content areas, developing appropriate modifications and accommodations. Collaborate with grade-level educators, specialists, and support staff to ensure comprehensive student support. Maintain regular communication with families/caregivers regarding student progress. Conduct assessments and standardized testing to support the eligibility evaluation process. Deliver direct instruction in both inclusive classroom settings and small group/individual settings as per IEPs. Monitor student understanding of the general education curriculum and adjust instruction accordingly. Consult with general education staff on learning styles, differentiated instruction, and appropriate teaching materials for diverse learners. Align special education instruction with general education classroom expectations. Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations in all aspects of the special education process. Administer and interpret formal and informal educational assessments, preparing written reports as needed. Analyze student work samples and data to monitor progress and identify skill gaps. Supervise and collaborate with paraprofessionals and ABA Technicians. Facilitate annual review and progress update Team meetings as required. Job Requirements Bachelor''s degree required. Massachusetts DESE Licensure in Moderate or Severe Special Needs required. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and collaboratively with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams. Experience working with and/or teaching students with disabilities in inclusive educational settings. Comprehensive knowledge of a range of disabilities and related needs. Familiarity with Massachusetts Curriculum Standards and research-based assessments and interventions. Strong commitment to inclusive pedagogy and high expectations for all students. Citizenship, residency or work visa required
