Description
The New York State Bar Association, a nonprofit professional association based in Albany, is currently seeking a full-time Government Relations Paralegal.
The NYSBA offers an excellent salary and benefit package.
Job Responsibilities
The position assists the Executive Director, General Counsel, and the Director of Government Relations with the Association’s government relations program, including tracking legislation, conducting legal research, preparing reports and legislative memos, coordinating Committee appointments as well as leadership, committee, and board meetings, and providing general administrative support to assigned committees and task forces.
Qualifications
A minimum of two (2) years working in the New York State legislature, a lobbying firm, or law firm with demonstrated interest and involvement in law and/or government relations is required. Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of Office applications, strong organizational skills, and a pleasant and professional demeanor are also required. Knowledge of State legislation tracking system is preferred. A Certified Paralegal or relevant graduate school degree, such as an MPA, is required. A hybrid office/remote schedule may be available.
