POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision, performs daily work assignments for the Golf Course Division of the Parks & Recreation Department in accordance with the Employee Manual, Department Policies and Procedures, City of Alamogordo Ordinances, and any applicable State or Federal authority.
RECRUITMENT QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Sufficient education to perform essential duties and understand and follow oral and written instructions; and
- Valid New Mexico Driver's License with a driving record acceptable to the City of Alamogordo.
Desired:
- Experience operating lawn care equipment and basic hand tools.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties
- Mows golf course greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and peripheral areas;
- Performs landscaping functions including mowing, fertilizing, and weed eating;
- Operates top dresser, chainsaw, and rakes bunkers;
- Maintains shop areas and restrooms in a clean, sanitary, and orderly fashion;
- Monitors and adjusts lake levels as necessary;
- Picks up and properly disposes of trash and refuse on and around the golf course;
- Sets cups on greens;
- Cleans and maintains tools, equipment, and work area;
- Contributes to a high-quality work culture through participation in training and mentoring to develop skills, including safety-related training and skills;
- Interacts professionally and provides excellent customer service to all levels of City staff and citizens to ensure high operational and service standards; and
- Performs duties in accordance with the Employee Manual, Department Policies and Procedures, City of Alamogordo Ordinances, and any applicable State or Federal authority.
OTHER IMPORTANT DUTIES
- Maintains the confidentiality of information obtained during the performance of duties;
- May work a non-traditional work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, if necessary; and
- Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
