Assistant Teacher Opportunity
The Goddard School of North Queen Anne is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our exceptional team of educators. As an Assistant Teacher, you will support Lead Teachers in creating a nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. You will assist in implementing an engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum through our proprietary Wonder of Learning® program, helping to spark curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Key Responsibilities
- Classroom Support: Assist Lead Teachers in implementing lesson plans and daily classroom activities using the Wonder of Learning® curriculum
- Child Engagement: Actively participate in guiding and supporting children’s learning, play, and exploration
- Classroom Environment: Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom
- Family Communication: Support positive communication with families regarding children’s daily experiences
- Health & Safety: Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities while following licensing & Goddard Safety Standards.
- Professional Growth: Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with Lead and support staff to create a positive and cohesive classroom environment
- Behavior Guidance: Support positive guidance strategies to promote social-emotional development
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; Early Childhood Education Associates preferred
- CDA credential preferred, or willingness to pursue an ECE Initial Certificate or equivalent as approved and verified in the electronic workforce registry.
- Commitment to complete 30 hours of STARS training prior to start date
- Completion of Safe Sleep training prior to start date
- Current First Aid/CPR certification prior to start date
- Food Handler’s Permit prior to start date
- Proof of TB test clearance and MMR vaccination verification
- Ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with children, families, and staff
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs in connection with the care and supervision of children
