    Gannon University's GO College program in the Erie School District is seeking tutors/mentors to work at Erie High School. GO College is a federally funded college access program that provides free tutoring, campus visits, free dual enrollment classes, ACT/SAT support, and college and career guidance to its students. Duties include:

    • Academic tutoring in one-on-one and small group settings
    • Assist students with online career/college research
    • Assist students with college applications and scholarships
    • Assist students with ACT/SAT registration & preparation.
    • Basic clerical office duties (copies, filing, passes, etc.)
    • Chaperone local or out-of-town campus visits and field trips.
    • Provide mentoring to students and encourage them to make smart decisions
    • Ability to evaluate and help students develop essays, composition, and research papers.

    Required Qualifications

    Ability to obtain clearances (criminal, FBI, child-abuse).

    Must be well-rounded academically, but the ability to tutor in math, science is essential

    Outgoing personality and ability to work with a variety of personalities, cultures, and learning abilities.

    Must be able to commute to the high school building.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Previous experience tutoring/mentoring in a middle school and/or high school.

    Availability during normal school hours.

    • Familiar with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
