SUMMARY Reporting to the Quality Manager, the GMP Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for leading the sanitation program at the Rocky Mount manufacturing site. This role supervises janitorial staff, maintains sanitation and pest-control programs and documentation, supports GMP and food safety requirements, and ensures sanitation activities are completed safely, consistently, and in accordance with company procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Supervise the sanitation program and janitorial staff.
Provide backup coverage for janitorial duties when needed.
Develop and/or maintain sanitation SOPs and associated documentation, including data sheets in electronic systems such as RedZone.
Maintain the Master Sanitation Schedule in accordance with company guidelines, ensuring daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks are completed and documented.
Maintain the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) file for all cleaning supplies.
Supervise the pest control program and maintain all related documentation.
Conduct weekly sanitation inspections, maintain inspection documentation, and follow up on corrective actions.
Facilitate quarterly Operations employee sanitation training and maintain training records.
Manage inventory levels of sanitation supplies.
Support HACCP, Food Defense, and Food Safety programs.
Manage recycling and trash programs.
Enforce company policies and procedures, including Safety and GMP requirements, within the department.
Order sanitation and GMP supplies for the Sanitation, Production, and Blending departments.
Perform other assigned duties as required.
Supervision of Staff
Responsible for the supervision, direction, and day-to-day work assignments of janitorial employees.
REQUIREMENTS Experience/Education:
3 - 5 years of experience.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Quality and sanitation experience preferred.
Knowledge/Abilities/Skills:
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel.
This position is based onsite in Rocky Mount, VA, Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm.
Remote candidates will not be considered for this role.
Physical/Mental Requirements
Works primarily in the manufacturing facilities and must follow GMP requirements and safety precautions for each area
Ability to maneuver around an array of equipment, bend, stoop, climb stairs, work in a cold environment some of the time
Work surfaces and floors may be wet. Employees are required to wear approved shoes and protective equipment.
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Standing on a concrete floor, reaching, bending, stooping, and repetitive hand movements may be required. Moving machinery, including conveyor and forklifts are in operation in the immediate area.
Ability to work beyond regular business hours and weekends, and holidays as needed
Salary:
$32.00 - $36.00 per hour
