Description

Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Gluer/Feeder Operator to support the production of high-quality folding carton packaging. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and feeding carton materials into high-speed folder-gluer equipment while ensuring product quality, safety, and production efficiency. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, quality-focused, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. General Converting utilizes advanced printing, cutting, and gluing technology to deliver premium packaging solutions to customers across multiple industries. 
Essential Responsibilities
  • Operate and assist in the setup of folder-gluer equipment according to job specifications.
  • Feed printed and die-cut carton blanks into production equipment accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor machine operation to ensure proper adhesive application, folding accuracy, and overall product quality.
  • Perform quality inspections throughout production runs, including dimensional checks and visual inspections.
  • Identify and remove defective materials or finished products.
  • Read and interpret production orders, work instructions, and quality specifications.
  • Maintain production records and complete required documentation accurately.
  • Assist with machine changeovers, make-ready activities, and routine maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Communicate production issues, material shortages, and quality concerns to supervisors and team members.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and waste reduction.
  • Follow all company safety policies, GMP practices, and food-packaging manufacturing requirements when applicable.
Qualifications Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow production work orders and specifications.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic math skills, including measuring and counting.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a production environment.
Preferred
  • Experience operating folder-gluer, finishing, packaging, or converting equipment.
  • Experience in folding carton, printing, packaging, or paperboard manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of quality inspection procedures and manufacturing best practices.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand and walk throughout the work shift.
  • Bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to work around moving machinery and production equipment while adhering to safety procedures.
