  • Duration: Direct Hire / Permanent
  • Pay rate: $140,000–$180,000 base salary, with flexibility toward $190,000 for highly qualified senior-level candidates
  • Bonus: Eligible for an annual bonus of up to 20% based on company performance

Description:
We are seeking an experienced Global Supply Chain Director to lead and execute end-to-end supply chain strategy for a global manufacturing organization. This is a high-impact leadership role combining strategic supply chain management with hands-on procurement and supplier leadership.

The successful candidate will oversee a centralized global purchasing organization, manage key supplier relationships, and partner closely with manufacturing and distribution operations across multiple locations. This role will be instrumental in improving cost efficiency, inventory performance, supplier reliability, logistics strategy, and overall customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a global supply chain strategy aligned with business growth, cost objectives, and inventory goals.
  • Standardize and improve supply chain processes across global manufacturing and distribution sites.
  • Optimize global logistics, freight, tariffs, and sourcing strategies to reduce total landed cost.
  • Lead procurement activities for critical suppliers and strategic categories.
  • Manage supplier selection, qualification, onboarding, and ongoing performance.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and long-term agreements with key vendors.
  • Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships while driving improvements in quality, delivery, cost, and service.
  • Resolve supplier-related issues, including shortages, quality concerns, delivery disruptions, and escalations.
  • Develop strategies to reduce excess and obsolete inventory through disciplined planning and lifecycle management.
  • Establish KPIs and reporting around service levels, fill rates, inventory health, supplier performance, and cost.
  • Own and improve supply chain processes, procurement workflows, vendor setup, and data governance.
  • Lead a centralized team of buyers and coordinate closely with plant operations and local site leadership.
  • Support engineering change orders and new product introduction initiatives.
  • Partner with Commercial teams to support customer delivery and service expectations.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, cost reduction, process standardization, and supply chain optimization.

Leadership Responsibilities
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a global team of buyers.
  • Participate in hiring and training of departmental leaders.
  • Organize and oversee departmental activities and priorities.
  • Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations.
  • Build a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of supply chain, procurement, or operations experience within a multinational/global manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading global supply chain strategy while remaining hands-on with procurement activities.
  • Experience managing global suppliers and supporting multiple manufacturing or distribution sites.
  • Strong supplier negotiation, contract management, and cost-reduction experience.
  • Proven success improving inventory performance, supply continuity, and supply chain processes.
  • Strong understanding of supplier performance management, sourcing, logistics, and inventory optimization.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing environments supporting both consumable and hardware products.
  • Experience with distribution-based sourcing, such as inks, coatings, specialty materials, paper, or similar products.
  • Experience sourcing engineered hardware, including fabricated metal components, servo motors, controls systems, PCBAs, or similar products.
  • Knowledge of global logistics, tariffs, and international trade compliance.
  • Lean / Six Sigma or continuous improvement experience.
  • Experience with NetSuite.

Work Environment & Travel
This is a hybrid position based out of the company's West Warwick, RI headquarters. The role requires approximately 25% domestic and international travel to manufacturing, supplier, and other business locations.

The position is primarily office-based, with regular mobility through manufacturing environments.
