    Description

Do you love fixing how work gets done, not just writing it down? Help AWS make operational processes simpler, safer and faster for field teams supporting infrastructure in places most people never see.

As a Global Process Manager, you"ll own a set of global processes from start to finish and lead improvement projects that measurably change how teams around the world work. This isn"t a documentation role. You"ll find where work slows down, fix it with the people doing it, and use AI tools to keep processes current, so your time goes into improvement.

    In this role you will:

    • Lead improvement projects from workflow mapping to measurable results
    • Own and continuously improve global operational processes
    • Help new programs design their ways of working from scratch
    • Partner with field technicians, program managers, operations leaders, and safety and security teams
    • Use AI tools to cut manual effort and keep processes up to date

    Key job responsibilities

    • Lead process improvement projects from start to finish: map the current workflow, find the waste, run workshops with the people doing the work, and follow actions through to measurable results.
    • Own a portfolio of global operational processes and keep them accurate, simple and easy to follow.
    • Review and act on incoming change requests from field technicians, program teams and partners, and spot the patterns that point to a bigger problem.
    • Design processes from scratch for new programs and customers, working with their teams to get them ready to launch.
    • Use AI tools to draft, update and maintain process documentation, cutting manual effort so your time goes into improvement.
    • Set improvement targets for your processes, track them with data, and report progress to operations leaders.
    • Work with safety, security and quality partners so processes meet safety and compliance standards.
    • Step in quickly when a field issue needs a procedure changed, and make sure the fix sticks.
    • Share what works across teams, including supporting teams that don"t have their own process expertise.

    A day in the life

Your main focus is making global operational processes work better. Most weeks you"re running an improvement project: mapping a workflow with the team, running a workshop to find waste, then following up on the actions until they"re done and the results show up in the data.

You also own a set of processes from start to finish. You"ll handle change requests from technicians and program teams around the world, talk with the people who use your processes, and update them yourself with AI tools, so your time goes on improving things rather than paperwork.

Some days you"ll help a new program build its processes from scratch, or step in when something in the field needs a fast fix.

    About the team

We support AWS infrastructure outside the traditional data center: at customer sites, partner locations and new programs around the world. Our mission is to give these customers the best end-to-end support, safely and reliably, wherever the work happens.

You"ll join a small global process team that gives field technicians, coordinators and partner vendors clear, simple ways of working. You"ll work with operations leaders, program managers, safety and security partners, and the people doing the work on site.

The problems you"ll solve are real and visible: steps that slow technicians down, handoffs that break between teams, and new programs that need processes built from scratch. We"re growing quickly, so there"s more work than people, and plenty of room to shape how we operate.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
