Description & Requirements
The Global Data Privacy Counsel will be responsible for supporting and implementing all aspects of the Firm's global data privacy compliance strategy and advising the Firm on legal data privacy matters with appropriate input from local in-country support.
The role-holder will be an integral member of the Office of General Counsel, leading global data privacy initiatives and ensuring compliance across the Firm's jurisdictions.
Main responsibilities:
Skills and experience:
A qualified lawyer with excellent academics credentials and a minimum of 10+ years PQE
Demonstrate deep knowledge of GDPR and expertise in other global data protection laws and practices
Have the ability to develop data privacy awareness at all levels within the global firm and explain technical points in clear concise terms taking account of the relevant audience
Strong ability to balance conflicting interests and viewpoints with confidence and provide pragmatic, solution-driven advice Strong attention to detail
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel and online research tools
High work standards
Excellent writing, organizational and problem-solving skills.
Strong client service orientation
Ability to prioritize and work to tight deadlines and manage own workload
Good communication skills, including the ability to liaise with people across different cultures with different legal systems
Ability to work well in both a team and individually
Keen to develop and use initiative
