Description

A growing commercial glazing contractor is hiring a Quality Engineer / Production Engineer to own quality from fabrication through installation. You'll report to the Engineering Manager in a highly autonomous role where you build and run the quality program.

Responsibilities

1. Check fabrication drawings for accuracy before they go to the CNC machine.

2. Own all quality paperwork and make sure fabrication runs smoothly.

3. Check and audit fabricated units before they ship to the field.

4. Develop and refine the company's quality system.

5. Teach the fabrication team the reasons behind cut and assembly methods.

6. Make sure every quality check happens in fabrication.

7. Go into the field to build quality check sheets for installation.

8. Track errors with check sheets and charts, and lead problem solving to stop them happening again.

9. Raise problems directly with the Production Manager and document them in write-ups.

Qualifications

- Experience at a curtainwall or commercial glazing company.

- Quality assurance or quality control experience is strongly preferred.

- Well organized, and comfortable building check sheets, tracking data and charting trends.

- Confident and direct enough to tell production when something is wrong, and to document it.

- AutoCAD and/or Glazier Studio experience is a big plus.

- Shop and field experience is a plus.
