    Glass Acceptance and Coating Technician

    Job Summary

    The Glass Acceptance and Coating Technician is responsible for performing critical glass acceptance, inspection, cleaning, coding, coating, and final quality control activities required for the release of finished products. The position follows established work instructions and operates within the company’s ISO 13485:2016 Quality Management System (QMS).

    This role requires a highly detail-oriented individual who can consistently follow established protocols, work effectively in a manufacturing environment, and support Engineering and Quality initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Inspect glass components used in product manufacturing to ensure they meet established quality requirements.

    • Clean glass components according to defined quality criteria and procedures.

    • Perform coating of glass components in accordance with the applicable quality matrix and established protocols.

    • Follow work instructions and approved procedures precisely and consistently.

    • Perform glass coding and final quality control activities prior to product release.

    • Take and execute verbal instructions from engineers and supervisors as required.

    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and provide recommendations to management.

    • Recommend and implement process changes while maintaining compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

    • Follow all company ISO programs and quality management procedures.

    • Assist Engineering with quality initiatives and related projects.

    • Support Engineering with process verification and validation activities.

    • Operate equipment and tooling after completing the required training.

    • Accurately document and perform work using Microsoft Word and Excel.

    Required Qualifications

    Education & Training

    • High School Diploma or equivalent; college coursework is a plus.

    • Additional consideration may be given to candidates with certifications such as:

      • Certified Medical Technologist

      • Certified Phlebotomist

      • ISO-related training or experience

    Experience & Skills

    • Approximately 3 years of related work experience in production, manufacturing, quality, or management.

    • Computer literate with basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with small components.

    • Ability to follow detailed procedures and protocols consistently.

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

    • Responsible, dependable, punctual, and focused.

    • Demonstrated commitment to the organization's mission and quality standards.

    • Veteran candidates may receive additional consideration.

    Judgment & Autonomy

    • Ability to provide constructive process-improvement recommendations to upper management.

    • Able to work independently while following established procedures and supervisory direction.

    • Demonstrates acute attention to detail and sound judgment when performing quality-sensitive tasks.

    Working Relationships

    The position interacts with various levels of management, including upper and middle management, as well as Engineering and other internal teams.

    Physical & Work Environment Requirements

    • Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing environment.

    • Must be able to stand for approximately 8 hours per day.

    • Occasional light lifting of 40 lbs. or more may be required.

    • Requires attention to detail while manipulating small objects using gripping mechanisms.

    • Ability to work in a clean manufacturing environment and maintain focus despite workplace distractions.

    • May use a computer workstation as required.

    • Equipment and tooling may be operated following completion of appropriate training.

    The position operates under established ISO processes designed to support a safe and controlled companywide work environment. Employees are expected to follow all applicable quality, safety, and procedural requirements.
