Job Title: GitLab Engineer

Location: Plano Texas

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled GitLab Engineer with strong expertise in Duo , DevOps, CI/CD automation, Infrastructure as Code, and AI-powered software delivery practices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing GitLab platforms, enabling secure and scalable software delivery pipelines, and leveraging AI-driven capabilities to improve developer productivity, automation, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-scale GitLab platforms (SaaS and Self-Managed).
  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for application deployment across cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
  • Integrate GitLab with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Implement GitLab security features including SAST, DAST, Dependency Scanning, Secret Detection, and Container Security.
  • Configure and manage GitLab Runners, Kubernetes integrations, and containerized deployment pipelines.
  • Leverage GitLab Duo and AI-assisted development capabilities to enhance code quality, pipeline efficiency, and developer productivity.
  • Collaborate with development, platform engineering, and security teams to establish DevSecOps best practices.
  • Monitor CI/CD performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize deployment workflows.
  • Develop automation scripts and reusable templates to standardize software delivery processes.
  • Implement governance, compliance, and security controls across GitLab repositories and pipelines.
  • Support migration initiatives from legacy CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, Azure DevOps, Bitbucket Pipelines) to GitLab.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of DevOps or Platform Engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience administering and optimizing GitLab environments.
  • Strong experience with GitLab CI/CD pipeline development and management.
  • Expertise in Git, branching strategies, repository management, and code review processes.
  • Strong experience with Linux administration and shell scripting.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles and CI/CD security practices.

AI-Specific Requirements

  • Experience with GitLab Duo, AI-assisted coding tools, or AI-powered DevOps platforms.
  • Knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs, prompt engineering, and AI-assisted software development workflows.
  • Experience integrating AI tools into CI/CD pipelines for code review, testing, security scanning, and deployment optimization.
  • Understanding of AI governance, responsible AI practices, and secure AI implementation.
  • Exposure to MLOps concepts and AI model deployment pipelines is preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • GitLab Certified Associate or GitLab Certified Professional.
