Position Summary
Seeking a GIS Specialist to serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert for a pipeline GIS environment. This role will manage GIS databases, pipeline centerline data, spatial analysis, and regulatory reporting while supporting pipeline operations, integrity management, and compliance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain GIS systems, including PODS SQL databases and pipeline centerline data
- Perform spatial analysis and mapping using ESRI ArcGIS
- Manage GIS data from inspections, surveys, repairs, ILI reports, and as-built documentation
- Write SQL queries and generate reports for asset management and regulatory compliance
- Support Integrity Management Programs, HCA analysis, Class Location studies, and risk assessments
- Manage GIS software implementations, upgrades, licensing, and vendor relationships
- Prepare PHMSA and other regulatory reporting submissions
- Provide GIS support and training to internal users
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree plus 6+ years of related experience, or 10+ years of experience in lieu of a degree
- Pipeline operations experience
- Experience with ESRI ArcGIS in pipeline applications
- GIS database administration experience
- Strong SQL skills
Preferred Qualifications
- GIS degree and/or certification
- PODS database experience
- SQL Server experience
- Microsoft Access and Excel proficiency
