Akkodis is seeking a GIS Business Analyst for a Contract with a client in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate must have proven ability to facilitate stakeholder collaboration, drive process improvements, and coordinate project delivery while supporting GIS and data management initiatives.
Rate Range: $80/Hour to $87/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
GIS Business Analyst Job Responsibilities include:
Partnered with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and technical requirements for technology and process improvement initiatives.
Facilitated stakeholder workshops, interviews, and requirements-gathering sessions to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
Created business process maps, workflow diagrams, user stories, use cases, and detailed documentation to support solution design and implementation.
Coordinated cross-functional project activities, tracked milestones, risks, issues, and action items, and ensured timely project delivery.
Acted as a liaison between business users, technical teams, vendors, and leadership, translating complex technical concepts into business-friendly language.
Supported GIS and spatial data initiatives by defining business requirements, improving data quality, and ensuring alignment with enterprise data governance standards.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, Information Systems, GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience considered.
Minimum 5+ years of Business Analyst experience supporting business systems, technology initiatives, project delivery, and process improvement programs.
Strong experience gathering, documenting, and managing business, functional, and technical requirements, with the ability to facilitate stakeholder workshops and requirements sessions.
Strong understanding of GIS/geospatial concepts, including spatial data management, mapping applications, and enterprise GIS solutions.

Pay Details: $80.00 to $87.00 per hour
