POSITION PURPOSE / IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATION
The GIS Analyst/Senior GIS Analyst - Temporary position is a technical position that focuses on the operation and maintenance of the Geographic Information System (GIS) and other integrated information systems and databases. Duties of the position include, but are not limited to, data management, visualization, and analysis. Additionally, the work involves the application of professional skills to a wide variety of planning and implementation of projects that will support the GIS needs of all City Departments.
This is a full-time, benefited, temporary position that will last for a duration of up to 18 months. The full salary range for this position is stated above. The starting range of pay is dependent on qualifications and experience of each individual candidate. The City of Westminster has a Multilingual Stipend Program to encourage and reward benefited employees who are conversationally fluent in languages other than English. Benefited employees have the opportunity to test their language proficiency skills and qualify for a bi-weekly stipend that will vary based on the employee's level of proficiency and usage.

Required:
Education and Experience as follows:
Associates degree or higher from an accredited college or university with major coursework in GIS or related field AND at least five (5) years of experience in a GIS position with database management, data quality control, project management, and content creation
Must possess a valid driver's license, provide proof of a safe driving record, and maintain a safe driving record for continued employment
Preferred:
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and skills, may be considered.
Senior GIS Analyst includes a minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a GIS Analyst, or related experience, and proficiency in all GIS Analyst duties and possession of preferred qualifications

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is constantly performed indoors is primarily sedentary office work. Occasionally work is performed outdoors with occasional exposure to extreme temperatures. Must demonstrate the ability to meet the physical demands of the job including the ability to retrieve information from various locations in the office when needed. Exposure to periods of high activity and high stress under demanding conditions. The position requires a great deal of communication with City employees, the public, and outside agencies.

Benefit Package
The City of Westminster does not participate in the Social Security system. In lieu of Social Security contributions, the city contributes to a 401(a) defined contribution plan on your behalf.
401(a) Contribution Rates:
Employee Mandatory Contribution: 11.5% of your base pay. Contributions are pre-tax and fully vested.
Employer Contribution: 12% of your base pay.
