    Desired Qualifications

    Education and Experience

    • Required:
      • Minimum 2 years of experience with Esri’s ArcGIS Pro.
      • Advanced proficiency with Safe Software’s FME.
    • Preferred:
      • Bachelor’s degree in geography (GIS), engineering, computer science, or a related field.

    Related Work Experience

    • Required:
      • Expert ability to utilize Safe Software’s FME to create and modify workspaces to solve complex problems.
      • Strong proficiency in Esri’s ArcGIS Pro.
      • Intermediate knowledge of linear referencing and geometric networks.
      • Experience with the Utility and Pipeline Data Model (UPDM).
    • Preferred:
      • Experience in the Natural Gas Utility sector.
      • Familiarity with Esri Portal.

    Specific Skills & Knowledge

    • Required:
      • Advanced proficiency in Safe Software’s FME.
      • Very good proficiency in Esri ArcGIS Pro.
      • Good proficiency in MS Office Suite.
      • Intermediate proficiency in Esri ArcGIS Enterprise and geometric networks.
      • Basic proficiency in SharePoint and UPDM.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
      • Strong geoprocessing and spatial analysis skills.
      • Ability to review requirements, analyze problems, and offer solutions.
      • Capability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly.
      • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, handle multiple assignments, and adapt to shifting priorities.
    • Preferred:
      • Intermediate understanding of current GIS industry trends (e.g., remote sensing, GPS technology).

    Major Responsibilities

    • Execute technical project tasks such as database design, advanced GIS analysis, and modeling.
    • Conduct data mining activities to fulfill customer requirements.
    • Generate specialized queries, maps, and reports to meet specifications.
    • Perform application testing and document defects.
    • Interface with Information Services GIS support and represent user concerns.
    • Interface with users and document requested changes.
    • Perform weekly audits and analysis to ensure GIS data integrity.
    • Develop methods and perform quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) for GIS and non-spatial data.
    • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for GIS projects and solution workshops.
    • Identify training requirements and create training and procedural documentation.
    • Identify and recommend new GIS technologies, processes, or applications for improved functionality.
    • Create and manage automated processes using FME, scripting, or other tools.
    • Process, prepare, and convert data for GIS use across various formats.
    • Analyze and optimize business processes to recommend best practices.

    Skill Sets and Expertise

    • Proficient with GIS software, particularly Esri ArcGIS Pro and Safe Software’s FME.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    • Ability to balance multiple priorities effectively and work with limited supervision.
