Varsity Girls Basketball Coach
Seasonal: Winter 26-27
Position Summary:
The Varsity Girls Basketball Head Coach is responsible for leading, developing, and overseeing the girls basketball program. The Head Coach fosters a positive, sportsmanship-driven environment while promoting the academic, athletic, spiritual, and personal growth of student-athletes.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead and organize all team practices, regular-season games, and postseason tournament play.
- Develop team strategies, skill-building drills, and game plans.
- Create a team first environment that encourages athletes to foster positive peer to peer relationships.
- Monitor player academic eligibility and behavior standards in line with school and state athletic association (e.g., MHSAA) rules.
- Communicate professionally and transparently with student-athletes, parents/guardians, and administration.
- Maintain and inventory team equipment, uniforms, and facilities.
- Qualifications & Requirements:
- Prior high school coaching/playing experience preferred.
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain).
- Completion of state/district athletic association coaching requirements (e.g., concussion and sudden cardiac arrest training).
- Satisfactory criminal background check.
- Must complete an online Protecting God’s Children course prior to 1st practice.
