Girls Varsity Assistant Wrestling Coach JobID: 1475 Position Type: Athletics/Activities/CoachingDate Posted: 10/16/2026Location: North Plainfield High School Additional Information: Show/HideThe North Plainfield School District invites applications for a Girls Varsity Assistant Wrestling Coach position at North Plainfield High School beginning with the 20262027 winter season.The Girls Varsity Assistant Wrestling Coach assists the Head Coach in planning, organizing, and delivering a comprehensive high school girls' wrestling program. This position is responsible for teaching fundamental and advanced wrestling techniques, fostering character and sportsmanship, prioritizing athlete safety, and supporting the head coach with daily administrative and logistical duties.North Plainfield is a diverse and vibrant community committed to developing the whole child through academics, athletics, and extracurricular opportunities. We are seeking a passionate, student-centered coach who is committed to helping build a comprehensive wrestling program that supports student-athletes both on and off the mat. Qualifications and Responsibilities:A valid New Jersey Teaching Certificate or New Jersey Substitute Certificate or state-approved coaching eligibility clearance.Successful completion of the required district background check and fingerprinting. Certifications (Must be current prior to season start):CPR, AED, and First Aid (or the ability to obtain certification prior to the start of the season).NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching Certification (or state equivalent).NFHS Concussion in Sports Certification.NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certification.Heat Illness Prevention Certification (if applicable). Experience & Skills:High school or collegiate wrestling experience (prior experience coaching or competing in girls'/women's freestyle or folkstyle wrestling preferred).Strong working knowledge of high school wrestling rules, scoring, weight management guidelines, and safety protocols.Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with high school student-athletes, parents, administrators, and athletic trainers.
