My AmeriCorps - Home Page Girl Scout Leadership Experience Facilitator
The Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England (GSSNE) team of 5 AmeriCorps members will strengthen membership coordination and expand direct youth services through our Community Partnership Program, which brings Girl Scout experiences to girls ages 5-18 in Rhode Island''s most underserved communities. AmeriCorps members will engage volunteers, recruit new Girl Scouts, and facilitate youth-led, high-quality, badge-earning programming that emphasizes pillars of holistic well-being, career exploration/workforce development, and civic leadership. The growth of Girl Scouts in historically marginalized communities will result in healthier communities measured through civic participation and engaged citizenry. Members will also provide programming in schools, community centers, affordable housing communities, and other trusted neighborhood locations serving Rhode Island''s most underserved populations. Their primary role will be to remove barriers to participation by delivering the evidence informed, badge-earning Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE). GSSNE will provide the trainings, mentorship and structures for AmeriCorps members to gain professional and personal skills in youth development, volunteer management, nonprofit leadership, and community engagement, preparing them for careers in education, human services, and the nonprofit sector.
