POSITION TITLE: GIO Data Specialist
DEPARTMENT: GIO-Enterprise Data Management
- POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in business or systems analysis or equivalent financial services industry experience
- 3 years of work experience required
- Technical writing experience (e.g. procedures, training material, etc.) and data analysis experience required
- Experience with MS Office Products (Excel, Word), Structured Query Language (SQL) and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) required
- Advanced knowledge of applicable operations functions, experience with various proprietary software packages
MAJOR DUTIES:
Develop, support, analyze and maintain investment, portfolio and sales and marketing data that is critical to the operations of the firm. Support with the day-to-day delivery of data to the organization, as well as downstream recipients of this data for purposes of compliance and reporting.
- Play a central role in the analysis of the needs of business units with the capabilities delivered by information technology. Ensure that data within eco- system is aligned with external data sources
- Responsible for eliciting and interpreting the actual needs of stakeholders, develop business requirements for reporting and ensure that data meets the needs of the business.
- Collect, evaluate and compress data and information from multiple sources, resolve conflicts and differentiate between actual and required user needs
- Deliver results after thorough research of functional needs by collaborating and communication between various users
- Understand, from both a business and high-level technical perspective, end users requirements and transform them into operational application
- Have a deep knowledge of investment management related data (e.g., security, account and performance attributes, trade data, etc.)
- Have a deep knowledge of working systems and bringing efficient and effective changes for better performance
- Understand business process management and business requirements of the customers and translate them into software requirements
- Collaborate and work with Investment Management, Sales and Marketing and operational and administration groups to ensure appropriate workflow and communication
- Work with managers to produce risk management reports and metrics reports
- Perform and document periodic audits of operational functions to measure adherence to policies and procedures
- Ensure scheduled work, tasks and deadlines are completed and verified by agreed deadlines, checklists are signed, reviewed and required back up and documentation is filed
- Review work prepared by staff to ensure accuracy and completeness and provide feedback
HOURS/LOCATION:
- 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (overtime as required)
- Location: Federated Hermes Tower- Pittsburgh, PA 15222
- Hybrid schedule (in-office / remote)
