NorthStar Memorial Group is seeking a Gift Shop Associate to support daily operations at the historic Byodo-In Temple in Kaneohe Hawaii. This role helps ensure visitors have a positive and memorable experience while assisting across the gift shop, ticket booth, and other temple areas as needed.
Responsibilities
- Greet & assist customers ensuring they have a positive experience
- Maintain the flow of customers waiting in line to check out
- Maintain store cleanliness & organization, restock shelves & merchandising to ensure proper product display
- Merchandising & inventory, conduct stock checks, receive & process shipments
- Provide product & cultural knowledge
- Accurately & efficiently operate Point of Sales system to handle sales transactions & returns
- Support & collaborate as a team member
Qualifications
- Ability to work within a team
- Reliable & punctual with a strong work ethic
- Highly self-motivated
- Positive, friendly and respectful attitude
- Willingness to learn, able to take direction
- Basic math skills
- Retail & customer service experience preferred (not required)
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods & lift up to 40lbs
- Weekend availability and flexible scheduling
Compensation Range of $16 - $17.50/hr.
