KILO ENGINEERING LLC is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Geotechnical Project Engineer to join their team in Marine on Saint Croix, MN. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company and work on a variety of projects, grow your engineering skillset, and engage with project stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Complete new hire safety and skill training 
• Be knowledgable in geotechnical engineering standard practices, including field explorations, laboratory testing, and engineering analysis 
• Perform entry-level engineering office tasks without supervision
• Perform intermediate-level engineering field, lab, and office tasks with limited supervision
• Perform complex-level engineering office tasks with supervision
• Supervise project setup, field explorations, and laboratory testing, including client communications
• Analyze collected geotechnical data for hazard evaluation, construction recommendations, and design values in geotechnical reports
• Communicate clearly with clients about the findings of geotechnical reports and the associated impact on their proposed developments 
• Network with other engineers and potential clients to expand your existing professional network
• Proposal writing, including scope development, schedule evaluation, and cost estimation for basic and intermediate projects with supervision
• Provide training and mentorship to existing technicians and new hires for field and lab tasks
• Provide training and mentorship to existing Staff Engineers and engage in peer mentorship with other Project Engineers
• Support senior engineers on complex projects 
• Complete independent engineering review on basic projects
• Perform construction observation and materials testing to ensure compliance with project specifications

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field
• 3-5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering or related consulting
• Valid U.S.-issued driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required, Professional Engineer certification preferred or ability to obtain within six months of hire
• Familiarity with soil mechanics, foundation design, and subsurface investigation methods
• Proficiency in geotechnical software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing and client interaction
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to grow within a technical engineering environment
