Geotechnical Engineer

Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is an engineering consulting firm specializing in geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, subsurface investigations, and related field and laboratory services for construction projects. Our work supports construction projects with the technical insight needed to evaluate subsurface conditions, inform design decisions, and maintain quality throughout construction.

This role is a strong fit for an experienced geotechnical engineer who enjoys balancing fieldwork, analysis, and technical reporting. You will contribute to and manage projects across geotechnical explorations and construction observation and testing, working on retaining wall design, pavement design, foundation design, slope stability analysis and more.

Responsibilities

• Perform earthwork, foundation, and construction materials observation and testing.
• Conduct subsurface investigations, including borings and test pits, and review exploration logs, lab results, and plans.
• Perform calculations related to bearing capacity, settlement, earth pressures, pavement section design, and slope stability.
• Prepare geotechnical reports.

• BS Degree in civil engineering or geotechnical engineering

• At least 5 years of experience in geotechnical explorations, construction observation and testing, subsurface investigations, and geotechnical report writing
• Experience with one or more of the following geotechnical analysis and design methods: bearing capacity and settlement calculations, earth pressure or slope stability analysis, pavement section design, or retaining wall and foundation design
• Experience providing geotechnical recommendations and discussing findings with project teams
• US citizen or permanent resident; visa sponsorship is not available for this role
• Able to work on-site
• PE preferred
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• CADD experience a plus
