Geotechnical Engineer II

We currently seek a high-caliber Geotechnical Engineer II for a direct hire basis within our Client’s team of experienced professionals.

Job Duties:

+ Perform geotechnical analysis and studies to assess mitigation options for geohazards (e.g., seismic analysis, karst evaluation).

+ Plan and conduct geotechnical explorations.

+ Design foundations, retaining walls, horizontal directional drills, and slope stability using appropriate calculations.

+ Assist in proposal development and cost/schedule estimation for investigations.

+ Provide direction to technical teams during field inspections.

+ Collaborate with customers and internal teams to ensure timely project completion.

+ Support Program Manager in design and evaluation of construction documents.

+ Develop design drawings and specifications for construction projects.

+ Review and approve geotechnical designs from external consultants.

+ Evaluate construction design proposals for geotechnical compliance.

+ Assess team performance and identify training needs to meet objectives.

Education & Experience:

+ BS in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field.

+ 3–7 years of relevant experience required.

+ FE certification required; PE license highly preferred.

+ Strong understanding of industry codes and standards.

Skills & Competencies:

+ Excellent written and verbal communication.

+ Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

+ Effective time management and organizational skills.

+ Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.

+ Experience with engineering, procurement, and construction projects is desirable.

+ High attention to detail and accuracy.

+ Proficiency with relevant software applications.

+ Ability to collaborate across teams and with clients.
