PURPOSE
Reporting to the General Manager and as a key member of the Marigold Leadership Team, the Geology Manager will have accountability to develop, manage and execute the Mine Geology and Resource development work.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead all exploration activities and geological programs across current projects to support resource growth and reserve expansion.
Manage in-mine, near-mine, and greenfield drilling programs, including planning, budgeting, execution, logistics, and reporting.
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, state, and federal regulatory requirements for employees, contractors, and exploration activities.
Oversee geological data collection, quality control, and resource modeling to support accurate technical reporting and decision-making.
Deliver exploration and technical work programs on schedule and within budget while implementing industry best practices and technical standards.
Lead, mentor, and develop teams of mine and exploration geologists, field technicians, contractors, and consultants.
Present exploration results, resource models, and growth opportunities to executive leadership and senior technical stakeholders.
Support production, exploration, resource estimation, and statutory reporting through the preparation of technical reports and resource statements.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Proficient in the use of standard office software applications
Experience with Leapfrog, ArcGIS
Effective communication and analytical skills.
Strong organizational skills with results focus.
Ability to coach employees and develop employees
Ability to act in a proactive manner, to anticipate problems and to solve existing problems within the context of operational requirements.
Ability to listen to opinions and formulate recommendations in a confident and constructive manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree qualification in Geology, Engineering, or related field
Tertiary qualifications in Geology with a minimum of 10 - 15 years of experience
Previous experience in the Carlin trend – preferred
