Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Access Control Technical Lead to support the client’s Genetec initiatives, including enterprise infrastructure modernization, global deployments, site migrations, system integrations, and ongoing operational support.

This contractor will provide technical leadership across Genetec Security Center environments and related access control infrastructure. The role will support activities similar to those currently underway within the Genetec META-Readiness program, including infrastructure upgrades, Access Manager migrations, Cloudlink deployments, system integrations, and future-state architecture initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on Genetec experience, a solid infrastructure background, and the ability to independently lead technical workstreams involving internal stakeholders, vendors, and system integrators.

Job Description:
The role involves serving as the technical lead for deployments and upgrades of access control solutions at the client’s locations, which includes documenting and understanding technical requirements, partnering with infrastructure and network groups, building and updating documentation, supporting system integrators, managing software and hardware installations, and creation of deliverables for gate review meetings. The person will also be responsible for continuing to improve our toolkit and templates for site-based deployments. These are mission-critical systems that require thoughtful care and attention, to ensure that all the client colleagues are safe and secure while on site.

Experience with infrastructure and software maintenance and troubleshooting
Experience with network communications protocols

Key ResponsibilitiesLead and support enterprise Genetec access control deployments, upgrades, migrations, and implementation activities.
Configure, troubleshoot, and support Genetec Security Center components, including:
Directory Servers
Access Managers
Cloudlink appliances
Security Desk
Config Tool
Support infrastructure modernization efforts and future-state Genetec architecture initiatives.
Coordinate Access Manager migrations, Cloudlink deployments, system upgrades, and site transitions.
Support high-availability, failover, and enterprise application-hosting environments.
Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, identity management, site operations, and other technical teams.
Integrate physical security systems with enterprise platforms, including:
Active Directory
Identity management systems
Human Resources systems
Visitor management solutions
Alarm monitoring platforms
Other third-party security technologies
Lead technical workstreams involving external vendors and system integrators.
Coordinate multi-site deployments with local site personnel, vendors, infrastructure teams, and other stakeholders.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, implementation plans, configuration records, migration plans, and support procedures.
Troubleshoot complex system, infrastructure, integration, and performance issues.
Support lifecycle management, system standardization, and continuous improvement activities.
Provide clear status updates, identify risks and dependencies, and escalate issues when appropriate.
Support physical security systems in secure, regulated, or mission-critical environments.
Required QualificationsHands-on experience with Genetec Security Center and enterprise access control systems.
Experience supporting Genetec components such as Directory Servers, Access Managers, Cloudlink appliances, Security Desk, and Config Tool.
Experience with enterprise access control deployments, upgrades, migrations, or system integrations.
Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including SQL clustering and/or SQL Always On environments.
Understanding of high-availability, failover, virtualization, networking, and enterprise application-hosting concepts.
Experience integrating physical security systems with Active Directory, identity management, HR systems, visitor management, alarm monitoring, or other enterprise platforms.
Experience supporting multi-site or global implementations.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate internal teams, vendors, and system integrators.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong documentation and implementation planning abilities.
Ability to manage multiple deployment, migration, upgrade, and support activities independently.
Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and follow-through.
Ability to satisfy applicable security screening requirements and obtain necessary site access approvals.
Preferred QualificationsCurrent Genetec certification.
Experience with enterprise video management systems, including CCTV deployments.
Experience supporting large-scale migration, modernization, or infrastructure transformation programs.
Experience designing or supporting high-availability architectures.
Knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
Experience supporting mission-critical, highly secure, or regulated environments.
Experience working in a global enterprise environment.
Experience with additional physical security technologies and third-party integrations.
Experience coordinating system integrators across multiple locations.

This role will work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment with internal technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, system integrators, and site personnel. The contractor must be comfortable working independently while coordinating multiple technical workstreams and deployment activities.
